"The door to safety swings on the hinges of common sense." - Author Unknown
As we continue these new experiences of sheltering at home and social distancing, we learn to safeguard our health like never before. Long-standing, common sense measures such as frequent hand washing, along with not touching our faces, is now very high priority. While personal hygine was once just daily practice and routine, it is now consdered a protective measure to guard our health, our families, and respect the health of those working on the front lines to support us during a global crisis.
Many cities, including my hometown Austin, Texas, now require indiviudals to wear a face covering when we go out in public. Their use is no longer limited to city dwellers - from shoppers, employees and every day citizens, items that used to be reserved for medical personnel are now standard daily attire. To help meet the current demand for cloth face masks, we will soon offer these on our web site. (Please note: Quantities will be limited as these are all hand made.)
A Cut Above
As with anything you can order from RebeccaGreenGallery, my face masks are 100 percent handmade in Texas.
Four layers of tightly woven, soft cotton fabric are pleated to present a surgical-style face mask. Elastic loops hold the mask behind your ears and securely serged, pleated edges help hold it softly against your face. An inner pocket can hold a filter of your choice, if you wish to use one, for further protection. (Please note, filters are not included.) Adjustable nose wires contour the masks for a comfortable, personal fit.
I encourage you to wash your mask after each public outing - just use a delicates cycle and air dry! These are made to withstand the wash and wear. Please feel free to reach out with inquiries. Join the conversation on Facebook and Instagram @rebeccagreengallery.
Stay smart, stay safe and stay well.
